    It’s only scary to watch your body age if your mind is not aging alongside it in equidistant steps.

    Do you remember when you went through puberty and you would have literal growth pains as your bone structure re-aligned itself? You must suffer similarly on an intellectual level.

    The difference is that you can choose to avoid this intellectual growth for a very long time if you’d like, and many people do just that, simply because the process is painful.

    The main enemy is your Ego. Your Ego will lie to you, play up your fears and work like a dog to get you to turn around and run away from any potential embarrassment, suffering, social exclusion or uncomfortable situations.

    It’s less painful to call someone a pretentious faggot and dismiss their ideas as such, when the act of entertaining those ideas might be a potentially very painful experience on a psychic level.
